An oddity ? concerning cleaning magnets

Gulible or not here we go = When useing a magnet cleaner on your glass or acry. does it or will it hurt to keep the magnet attached to your tank ie. left attached submerged at all times someone said it years ago but with no explanation that it wasn't good for the tank

I have a glass tank and keep my mag-float submerged 24/7. Don't know of any problems yet and the thing has been in there for a looong time.

I left mine but after a while it gets all encrusted and the fiber gets algae and stuff. This could be an issue as coraline growth in the can scratch acrylic tanks but for glass I see no isse.
The magnet itself I see not issue at all being in there although I would try to keep it away from electronic probes. (Powerheads and pumps create similar magnetic fields anyhow)
