I am a new SLASH member with a 180 that is ready to stock and would like to participate in the CDP. Is there something I need to do before the swap to be able to come home with some coral?

Make sure you read the rules of the CDP and have a coral dip at home ready to go. There is no telling what you may actually be bringing home.

I see coral RX is a choice many use but I see Bayer used by others. Any preference? I will probably quarantine because the LFS was kind enough to give marine velvet on a fish recently that wiped out my smaller tank.

I use Revive... not saying its the best possible option just saying it is what I use.

Just so you know, neither of the two you mentioned will deal with common fish diseases. They deal with some of the parasites that live/ come in on corals . And depending on the parasite, more than one treatment over the course of a few weeks may be needed to fully eradicate certain pests. (Aefw) unfortunately, some fish diseases can come in on corals and inverts.
While there can be some overlap , quarantine procedures for corals and fish differ, though the total time recommended for any quarantine, whether fish, coral, or inverts, is the same. treatment over the first few weeks, then observation for an extended period. 78 days if I remember correctly if yu want to be sure you do not introduce ich into your tank. Though chances are , unless all your fish died and it has been fishless for 78 days, the ich is already in your tank.
Not trying to tell you what to do, I just want to be sure you have your eyes open as what to expect (and not to expect) from dipping your corals . Dip them, yes. But it's not the silver bullet by itself.

Just remember to take it slow . Even though your tank is ready if you over do it with fish too fast it will cause a crash because the bio filtration wont be able to keep up . I wouldnt do more than 3 fish in 2 months.
