here was mine, and it was as big as a silver dollar, it stayed this color for 6 months, yes it is dead, but so is 80% of everything in that tank because of a 3000 mile move that didnt go so well....it was very healthy....so poo
See, now that one actually looks healthy.
Compared to the one I posted, which is bleached, and this one:
which is also bleached, sad to say. Notice that the above ricordia are way smaller than their neighbours and otherwise shrivelled up and generally unhealthy looking?
It's not a matter of "arguing" or trying to put people down, far from. I just think that people are getting duped into spending money on corals that are not 100%. Just because a ric is bleached doesn't mean it's doomed, BUT it certainly shouldn't fetch a higher price because of it's "rare" colour.
About the "white" mushrooms, I'm not convinced either way but I think it's interesting that the original poster has to keep coming back and getting so defensive about the things.
The more pictures people post on these message boards, the more PMs they get asking for frags. It's basic viral marketing, take a look at the micro and acan threads in the LPS forum, those guys with the nicest pieces are also dealers .. go figure.
