I was wondering if this fish you have on Diver's Den is aggressively eating prepared foods. Also what size is the substrate in its tank? Would special grade be fine enough?
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Anampses lineatus. To allow this fish to dig, we recommend providing a sandy substrate.
We will be checking with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life facility in regards to this specimen’s eating habits. You will be notified here as soon as we receive further information on this.
I agree that it needs to burrow. I was wondering about the size of the sand grains though. The 'special grade' is fine but it is not sugar fine sand. Is it acceptable for this fish? What size is the substrate in the tank the fish resides in now?
Thank you for your message. We will check with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life facility in regards to the substrate currently being used with the Anampses lineatus, and let you know as soon as we obtain further information.
Thank you for your patience while we obtained this information for you. The Anampses Lineatus is fully quarantined and eating frozen mysis and enriched brine shrimp. It is exhibiting normal behavior for this species. It is housed in a holding tank with Arag Alive Special Grade Sand. This 1 -2mm sized gravel and is offered on drs.fostersmith.com. If we can be of any additional assistance please feel free to contact us.
I had another question if you don't mind.
How long have you had this fish in your facility? Was it treated for flukes long term or should I treat with Prazipro as I do with all my fish prone to this parasite?
