Ancylomenes venustus Breeding

Hey guys, anyone have any ideas how these guys breed? Or info for similar species is fine too. Been doing searches all over the net but no luck, so hoping for info from someone here. Thanks!

Breeding them is nearly impossible. The zoa are usually destroyed by filteration and water quality. They are planktonic feeders when free floating zoa too.

Hm okay. :/ Gotta consider that. Do you know if a standard impellor return pump would kill them as zoo?

Also how does one sex these? Do they change sex?

Air bubbles will kill them.

It's difficult to properly filterate a tank without it becoming stagnant and polluted from the feedings, since any screens, nets, or overflows rip them appart.

As far as the gender, personally, I do not know how the tell the different with these particular shrimp, however I can confirm they do not change sex.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I guess whilst you're here, one last question, though a bit unrelated. I have been feeding mine live brine shrimp, is that enough? I do feed some plankton-like food too (Spectrum nutricel or whatever it is called). Not sure if that's good enough?

Yep that's enough. They scavenge any detrius they find in the rock and on the sandbed alongside feedings.
