And God said, "Let there be light,"...

and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness...

If anyone is wondering why I'm quoting the Bible, it's because my 180G will soon have light!! I can soon start putting corals in my big tank and taking some of my small tanks down. That God guy sure knew what He was talking about when He realized that light is good. No, this is not a religious sermon...just a very happy boy with a big new toy.

Pics of my 72" Solaris G3 in action soon to come...give me a couple days to figure it all out and I will post pics.

Thanks...after four hours of modding my hood so that it'll fit and so that the fans are open, the lighting is on the tank. The moonlights are on right now, so no pics as of yet.

Pictures are here!!

Man, that light is so awesome. The color and the shimmer(thought the shimmer would be lost, but it is intensified!!) are just absolutely amazing. It is everything I could've ever hoped for and more. No corals, yet, but take a look for yourself:

The only small thing that I noticed that could be considered a negative(and you can see it in the first picture and in the second pic to the left of the clener goby) is that in the shadows of rocks or smal crevices, you can see the light's specific color...in other words, the LED's don't seem to "blend" in the shade.

But, in the long run, who really cares? 450W is producing that light on 180G of water and only pushing out 105 deg F of heat at full strength, none of which is dispersed to the water...

It's ok Craig..green sand is cool..:D
Seriously though, congrats on the awesome Solaris! Look forward to pics of the corals under them!:bum:

I'm definitely excited about it and I can't wait to get corals in there, but this hobby has taught me patience. I'm probably only going to put my ORA Green toadstool in and wait a couple/few weeks just to make sure everything is good in the tank.

Awesome Craig. When you get the corals in there make sure you take good pictures so we can do a growth comparison in a few months.
