Anemone and hermit

When I just glanced at my tank, my hermit crab was In my anemone's tentacles and before I could do anything he was gone! His shell was wedged in the rock above empty. Then I have just looked again and there is a leg poking out the shell, so I've moved him and I can still see legs poking out slightly so he must be ok! Is it possible that the hermit has molted on the rock above the anemone to feed him? This is our first anemone and we have only had him 5 days so we haven't fed him yet.

No, that was lucky coincidence for the anemone.

I think the anemone could have spit him out.

My old gig use to eat so many snails and hermits. There was always a nice supply of empty shells next to it.
