anemone and stubborn clownfish

hey there,
my tank has been set up for about 6months or so and we have had clownfish (species im not sure of though, they look exactly like nemo i guess?) for about 1 and a half months, and have recently bought a large anemone.

the clownfish wont even swim in the general area of the anemone. i was wondering how long it usually takes for the fish to discover it, and if there is any way i can entice the fish into the anemone.

thanks, jack.

There is no set time that it takes for clowns to be hosted. They may never be hosted. There's nothing you can do really. If you really want them to be hosted in an anem you should really buy one that is a natural host to your clowns. Your clowns will be Percula or Ocellaris without pics we can't tell..

if you bought the haitian anemone it probably most likely wont host. ive never seen a perc clown go in a haitian. ive seen many percs go into sebae anemones and bubble anemones. im sure there are more out there but those are the most common ones ive seen work.

any idea what kind?

They may never host...it's not like they're trying to hide from a barracuda in your tank or anything.
Mine have never hosted anything other than the overflows even though they have a variety of appropriate hosts.
