anemone for my 24g Aquapod 150w HQI

Just ordered this tank and I am in the beginning stages of planning livestock. First off, I know no anemones for almost ayear. That being said, I want a colorful anemone for the tank. I would prefer not to have a sabae since well...i think they're unattractive. Can I get a carpet or is this a no no with the size. Any suggestions and especially picks would be awesome. I only want to buy one anemone and want a good fit.

I would think that a BTA would fit in this tank if you place any other fish or corals in there based on its needs for flow and space. I have a S. Haddoni "carpet" in a 24gallon aquapod with the 75w 10k hqi lighting. I had to modify the tank for extra flow to accomodate the anemone as I found that the AP's stock pump and flow setup really stinks, but the mod seems to help a great deal. If you want more info on how to modify this I could send you the link with some pictures.
Just keep in mind how much room the anemone is going to need as the aquapod is quite small for most if not all host anemones and all of the carpet species tend to get quite large when fully open. Also, the Haddoni carpet is a sand dweller, so you will need to have enough open room to allow it to dig its foot into the sand and then open up. I have been considering contacting Current USA (maker of the Aquapod) to see if the back is tempered glass and see if it is possible to drill the back to try and tie in a sump to get more of the rock out of the display in order to open up even more room for mine.

A small BTA would be comfortable for a good amount of time. It would be especially good if you got one of the smaller 'split-happy' variety.

Thats a good point too. A BTA that loves to split from time to time could eventually help to recoup some of the cost of this hobby. LOL. Presuming you have an LFS that would buy them off you or another hobbyist in your area. One of our BTAs is a 3rd generation split in captivity, and I believe that there are anywhere from 3 to 5 of the same BTA (all came from the same 1st BTA) that have been passed to members of our local club at monthly meetings.

I would go with a bta in that size tank... A rose bta is very colorful and easy to come by...

I have a Sebae in mine and prefer them to BTAs. They don't move as readily as the BTAs do.

I would normally say a bta, but in the last six month's my mind has been changed for a small anemone. See if you can't find a small h. malu. Mine has not really grown in six months, and is only at most five inches around. My lfs gets them in all the time as "purple flat anemones" and they fit perfect in my little 24g and my perc's love them.
