Anemone found in Seattle, WA coast

Hi All,

I can find these anemone found abundant in seattle coast. Can some one identify if this is a Anemone or a rock flower?

Are they reef safe. can we have them in tank?
Are they poisonous?

None of the anemone's found in the pacific northwest are suitable for reef tanks. You would need to set up a cold water tank to support them. Did you stick your hand in the water?

No toxic water. I meant for temperature, the water they live in is very cold, you would need a chiller.

I think you also need to check if they are legal to collect. Various species might be protected, and you wouldn't want to be collecting the wrong one (even if it looks plentiful in your area, it still might be protected).

Also, as mentioned, you need a dedicated cold water tank for these. Not reef compatible (warm reef at least).

I believe in Washington it is illegal to collect, but in Oregon you can purchase a permit to collect.

Looks like they're a cold water anemone as oppose to a warm water anemone.

There are a few local hobbyists who have cold water tanks with these types of anemones in our area.
