Anemone had a rough time getting shipped!

Just got out anemone in from being shipped and he has all sorts of stuff hanging out of his mouth. I don't know if he is pooping, stressed, or maybe even dying. Their warmer things were cold and so was everything in our box. The first bag I picked up was practically freezing. He is moving his tentacles and raising and lowering his body some and the he it crabs keeping angering him by getting close to him. I don't see any desegregation.

Yeah, that's not good. It's definitely stressed. But don't give up hope. Do you have a hospital tank where he could recover away from the crabs?

that guys looks like a goner.. you should take him out of your DT into QT for treatment. those guts start clouding your water real quick

and also take pictures to see if you can get some money refund

We do have a QT tank that we are moving him to. I took pictures of everything as it came in and have only been taking more pictures since. It seems like it keeps moving more and some of the tentacles are beginning to bubble up (somewhat). Will it pull the guts back in itself if it gets better?

I would treat it, look at the sticky at the top of the forum, lots of water changes and keep antibiotic level steady may have a chance.

Well he doesn't have his guts hanging out of his mouth anymore. He still looks rough in my opinion, but I think he looks somewhat better or it may just be wishful thinking on my part. What does someone who knows what they are doing think?

It's looking a lot better

Yeah... Much better and he is a bta so pretty resilient ... I think it will pull through... I would hold off feeding him for awhile as he recovers it will only add stress...

Mine showed its guts on arrival with prolapsed mouth then sucked them in the next day. Your arrival picture is worse than my arrival. However the things healthy can be sliced in half so if you have stable water parameters it could very well make it. The second picture does look much better, however I have noted they have good and bad periods of time with their mouth. Just leave her be and keep the water clean and steady

So he still hasn't spit his gut back out of his mouth but he kinda looks like a scoop of melted ice cream on the side of the rock. He was poofing his tentacles up earlier today and poofing his foot up some. Now he is back to the melty ice cream phase. Should we turn his rock, so he is on top of it? Any advice? I just feel so bad for him I wish I could pull him out, snuggle him and make everything all better.

This is his second morning in a row where he has poofed up, pretty and seems happy. Is he just adjusting? Sometimes he looks really good other times he looks awful.

Looks good in the last pic. Hope it does well for you. They look crappy when acclimating sometimes, hopefully it's on the mend from the perils of shipping and will be good as new in a week or two.

with my limited knowledge.. I read that sometimes anemone do that to expel water, performing a self water change. It may be a sign of stress. You should compare its best form today vs its best yesterday. As long as they are not progressively looking worse, you are good!

My nem had the same routine. When lights come on it would deflate with prolapsed mouth then by mid light cycle it looked amazing. I think this is stress and it acclimating. It did this for a month or two and progressively got better
