 Ok so just wanted to get some opinions on the BTA and the LTA.
What are the pros and cons of each? which ones easier to care for, which one is better for hosting clowns, etc
:bounce2: :bounce3: :bounce1:
TIA

I've had both, but prefer the looks of the BTA. Both will host most clown fish. Boils down to what you like.

I'm no expert by any means but I would think as long as what you choose likes the same water parameters you will be fine. Pay attention to what you put next to each other as some will sting and kill other corals you place them next to.

Most all of the online sellers have water parameters of anything you wish to buy posted. Just make sure what you want all like the same. If not you nor your corals or other tank inhabitants won't be very happy.

yeah, i plan on putting the anemones in before all other corals, with the exception of clams and zoas/pallythoas, and my sand bed corals

Not just the nem, the corals will sting each other as well. I think before you start buying livestock decide what you would like and your must have's first. This will tell you what water parameters you need to have. Usually leathers, softies and lps are pretty much the same parameters but if you add sps to the mix most I believe are different requirements.

Bta is a bit easier and live on the Rock work, while lta live on substrate. Both prefer sg of about 1.025. Mh, t5 or led is a must. Tank must be set up at least 6-9 months if not longer.

You must also be aware that two anemones in the same tank will release their own chemical into the water which will affect each other (there's a scientific name for it which I can't remember) and the weaker one will submit to the larger or more dominant one and stop eating. In that case it'll start to shrivel up and eventually die. However, this can be counteracted if you run GAC 24/7. Also, it's best to introduce one first and let it find it's spot before you introduce the other one so their paths don't cross and they don't sting each other. In my experience my BTA moved around on the rocks for the flimsiest reason (e.g. when I put the pump off to target feed my corals, etc) but it should not be a problem if the LTA sits in the sand since the BTA will always stay on the rocks.
