Which would be better anemone for clown pair to host to: Long Tenacle Anemone or BTA? My tank is macro algae predominate.

ive had occys host both lta's and bta's... i have had a few different pairs of occys and they usually went in the bta's faster than the lta's.

it all depends on the clowns you have, each is different

Neither of the anemones you mention are natural hosts for ocellaris. When clowns refuse to go in an anemone, I believe it's practically always because the anemone is not a natural host. That said, many ocellaris will eventually go to either a BTA or LTA. Of those two, BTAs live in the rocks and LTAs live in the sand. Generally speaking, BTAs are an easier species to keep. If you're not well acquainted with anemones, then a BTA might be more likely to live for you.

What is the natural host for occelaris - I read somewhere that they had hosted to a hairy mushroom too. Mushrooms are much easier to keep?

Heteractis magnifica, gigantea, and merten's are natural hosts for ocellaris. Like LTAs and BTAs, mushrooms aren't natural hosts for ocellaris, but sometimes they accept them.
