well i figured they were bleached because the lighting at the lfs was pretty bad. but i got him for 10 bucks. he went under a rock..that means the lightings to bright for him right? should i leave him or put a filter on the lighting?

What lighting do you have?
How old is your tank?
Water params (with numbers)?

I would definitly start by screening the lighting.

well its my brothers 30g, 130w pc.
its around 4 months but the water was transferred from another tank.
params:
amon-0
nitrate-0
nitrite-0
ph-8.3-8.4
salinity is 1.023-1.024

and how exactly is screening done?

See Toddrtrex's "red haddoni" thread in this forum for a picture on how. Basically, its a sheet of egg crate with 3 layers of black window screening on top. You then remove a layer every 5 or so days.

At this point, all you can do IMO is keep your water stable and offer some small chunks of krill/mysis soaked in selcon (if it will take it) and hope for the best. I've seen some BTA's come back from that point...
