If I had to guess I would say its an unhappy giant carpet anemone. How long has it been in captivity? I have no idea how large the trunk might be on a very large carpet. Just a guess anyway. You could also try in the anemone forum.

Grins, well as far as i know it is real .

Graveyardworm, thanks. I´ve already posted in the anemone forum. A member said it might be an Metridium gigateum. I really don´t think it might be a carpet.

I caught your other thread on another site a lttle while after posting. The carpet idea was a long shot, and if the anemone is a temperate species then I have nothing to reference it anyway. Good luck with it.
