PRESTO2345, I just got something that looks very similar one a piece of live rock from my LFS. Mine is smaller maybe the size of a dime. Its definitely some type of anemone since it was on the move as soon as i put it in the tank. Mine was working its way into the darker areas, possibly since it was in the live rock bucket for a while, I have it under one 10,000k & one Antic 96 watt PC's, in the darkest low corner of the tank.

Bab, that seems to be a common hitchhiker on live rock, and you're right, it is definitely an anemone. I have one that I've had for years. They are very sticky and seem to like to live in a cave in the liverock. I actually feed mine every once in a while and it eagerly snatches whatever food I offer it. Mine measures about two inches from tip-to-tip. It has slowly grown over the years. It never moves. I have it where it can't touch anything else as I think it would be damaging to whatever it comes in contact with. I have no idea what species it is, but it does appear to be related to the OP pic.

its an umbrella mushroom... if you look on saltwaterfish.com under corals and umbrella mushroom.

i got one a few months ago.. apparently they are semi agressive.

davidandliz thanks for the heads up...My guess is that they are florida rics. However, what I have posted a pic of is nowhere close to a mushroom. It looks like it would be related to the rock anemone.
