Ok I have a perfecto 29g 30Lx18Tx12D I would like to add an anemone later on and am researching around now. I am trying to find out what would be a good choice for my tank?

Also are vortechs nem safe or is there something that needs done there?

I like carpet anemones but I know my tank is not big enough. I also like the rose bta and also the LTAs.

In reality I want something that will be happy in my tank and be a host for a clown pair.

Thanks.

The only anemone that I could (( sort of )) recommend for a 29 would be an BTA. All others get too big, and even BTAs have a chance of getting too big, but a lesser chance then other hosting anemones. It is the front to back distance (( 12" )) of a 29 that causes the size issues.

What lights to you have?

As for the Vortech, how low can the flow of those go? And would it be easy to cover it?

yes 12" wall to front, I have a 250w MH and will have 2 24" t5 actinic supplements before long.

I believe the MP10 can go from like 200gph to 1500gph, may not be remembering correctly though.

dont really look to easy to cover (dont have it yet) but its very small.

Demonboy,

I have a Green Bubble Tipped Anem in a 24 gallon tank housed with SPS and LPS corals. I am not sure if you plan on keeping any of these types of corals but be careful because BTAs will sting and kill other corals. BTas will move around the tank until they find a place to settle down and in the process will walk and sting other corals. My best advice is to find a single piece of live rock with a holes large enough that the Anemone can stick its foot and settle into and place it far enough away that it wouldn't have much of a chance to get to other corals. Mine stayed put for 6 months and then decided to roam around the tank after I changed the flow in my tank. I hope this helps.
