Anemone in AP12 with Stock PC lights

Get ready for it cause that's probably not enough light for them and too small of a tank....the others will be here soon to scold you.

i know its not really a big enough tank but they seem to be happy their not moving all around and my water quality is still very stable... many people told me that they would be fine with the lights.

well, you have to realize that many people are also wrong. i've killed two btas in a 12 gallon ap and thats with 70 watt metal halide, established tank with baby clams lps. i'm never doing it again.

I would try and add some retro lights into this system or the anemone will surely bleach. You could use smal t5 retros and kick your output up drastically. Without sufficient lighting the anenomes host algae will die off.

That set up should be sufficient for a bta. I have a RBTA in a 30 gallon cube with a 250 watt mh pendant.

You need to focus less on light output per gallon and more on light intensity and light penetration. An AP is only 16" or 18" deep I think. A 70 watt bulb on a 12 gallon AP is sufficient light for any coral or invert such as an anemone

the light is sufficient. what i'm trying to get is 12 gallons leaves too little space for error in water quality.
