hey guys...
probably stupid question...if i buy a 2-4" bubble tip anemone, i know that they sometimes do expand and contract a bunch but will it actually grow larger in size??

or just stay 2-4"??

They can get up to about a foot or more. Mine got that big before it split. It also depends on your lighting and how you feed them; that will have a big effect on how big they get.

Mine really got big-- it split and the "mother" anemone grew so much we gave her to the LFS because she was taking over one end of the tank and stinging a bunch of stuff.

i have a pair of ocellaris clownfish...should i get just one anemone for the both of them?? they were both introduced as juveniles one week apart so theyre a pretty good couple...

Personally, I would just get one anemone big enough so they can share. How big are they now? Are they showing any signs of growth differences? What kind of lighting system are you running also?

There is no need to get either one an Anemone, survival rates for Anemone's is terrible (< 3%) even for experienced reefers. The Clowns will do fine without one all the same in captivity, however, any clown in the wild will perish in pretty short order. If your tank is a year older or more, stable and you can dedicate at least half your tank to an animal like this, I would look to a single captive raised E.Quadricolor as they are one of the most hardy of the Anemone's. (They are still "Difficult" on the care scale however as are all Anemone's)
