I want to set up an anemone tank, this tank will sit next to the main display tank and plumbed into the same sump. It will have live rock and cleaners in the tank but not really set on having any fish just Anemone. i will also be doing spot feeding twice or three times a week. My question to all of you, is will this tank need or require fish?

as in fish, do you mean clowns? your nem doesnt "require" them. i would get your nem setteled in and then decide. because it may settle in better without anything bothering it.

Not necessary clown fish but any fish, I was thinking anemone may benefit from fish waste such as most corals do.

The anemones benefit mostly from the dissolved solids created by fish being in the tank. The dissolved solids will transfer from your display tank fish since the tanks share a sump.

i thought you were joing this with your display tank. i assumed your display had fish in it. i would agree that the nem would benifit from fish poo. if your display has no fish, then thats where i would add some if you decide to. that way they wouldnt become food for your nem. esp. if its a carpet. they love to eat.

It will be joined to disply tank by use of sump, display tank has 9 fish wrasse and tangs. So that should supply anemone tank with dissolves correct?
