Anemone to buy....which one anyways?

I am interested in purchasing an anemone for my two clowns. They are my pride and joy and I want them to have a happy home. I don't want anything huge as far as anemone's are concerned and would prefer one that generally easier to take care of but doesn't have to be the easiest as I am used to dealing with finicky things as well. At any rate where should I buy one in Coralville and which kind would you get? Also if anyone has one for sale that may also interest me as well! :D

I have a long tentacled anemone that's really quite large and will probably get larger, it's about 12" across now and I hear they can become as large as 20", so you'd probably want to steer clear of that kind :) I know Dr. Foster's Live Aquaria sell some that don't get so big-you could at least research them on there even if you wanted to buy local.

a bta is one of the easiest anemone's to keep and most clowns love them. bta's require good light and moderate - strong current. mine hangs out in front front of a mj1200 with a rotating deflector on it and gets 7 watts per gallon in a tank that's 1' deep, and i feed it every 3 days.

I have power compacts in the tank.

Its going to depend on how much PC light you have. I have a few anemones that do fine under 260w of PC light, but my display is only 90 gallons and it has plenty of LR for the anemone to adjust its height.

What kind of clowns do you have? Its going to depend on what kind of fish that helps determine what kind of anemone to get.. and even then there are no guarantees that it will host.

What kind of clownfish do you have? Different clownfish host different anenomes. My ocellaris clownfish wouldn't touch my BTA but my maroon took to it within 24hrs.

Another thing to keep in mind is how much they move. BTA's love to roam so you have to keep your powerheads shielded or they will blender them!

My BTAs have never moved, but I guess they would move if the conditions where they are at are not suitable, such as too much flow or light, or not enough flow or light.
