yeah so my purple anemone was living happly ever after untill last night when it decided to go for a stroll, well a powerhead pushed him to thge otherside of the tank where he was sucked into a #4, well i woke up this morning to find the big guy lokking pretty dead, so i left him there cause he was sop jammed up he wouldnt budge, i just unplugged the power head. well i just got home from work and the thing is alive, open 3/4's but alive, its coulour seems to be pinkish but hopfully he will make it and turn purple again. anyone els ever have this happen??
or has anyone ever modified a koriala powerhead to be anemone safe???

Is this a Long Tentecal Anemone? The pink color is loss of alage from the cuts and scars...lol...I havent had this happen but I know of people that this has happend to.I would say 90% of them that I know have lived after being sucked into a power head. Most powerheads can be covered with a mesh or foam, but this wont garentee they wont get suched up by it again.I will just lower th echances if the anemone getting farther in the powerhead!

Thanks,

LTA and koralia have a history, the anemone just won't stick itself to anything, have had to unplug power head and wait sometimes what seems like hours for it to drop off but it has never been cut up, yet........

Got my first anemone about 2yrs ago. It got stuck in an intake and was left with four stubs of arms, and about %10 of its plate. Mouth and foot seemed to be unaffected by the event. It recovered and has 5 offspring to its name. Keep up the hope!

well it seems to be just fine except its trecking across the tank again, but i went to als tonight and grabbed a brown n white anemone crab , a yellow watchman goby and some more zoas, the crab is already in the anemone and wont leave it, atleast somthing will go near it, my clowns show no interest

ideally it would have been best for the nem to suffer as little stress as possible. some times our tank inhabitants that host can stress the poor nems outs..

heres an update my anemone is dead now, he started to implode or turn inside out or somthing, so im thiknking on just gettin two small anemones instead of a big lta again

yeah i orders two little cheap ones , i cant remember what they were called but they look similar to what i had befor just way smaller, and they are both the same, i figure if i put the beside eachother and they stay there it will look as good as the old one

I had the exact same thing happen to my purple carpet. I moved the K4 to the sand and let it alone until the carpet could get itself out of the holes.

however there were a couple times that it got stuck in too deep and I had to cut some of the holes to widen them so that I can push/pull the flesh of the carpet out of the powerhead.

this happened so many times that I finally sold the carpet. :D
