Anemoneeeeezzzz

I have a newly established 56T. I have live rock, a maroon colored macro algae, hammer coral, and some mysterious new polyps growing on some of the live rock. I reeeeeaallly want an anemone, but I've heard to wait one year. Are there any anemones that will work in a new tank?

Each tank is different, usually I say at least 4-6 months, but it all depends on your parameters, stability and husbandry. If your rock was in really good condition when you got it and cycled, and you can keep your parameters stable (weekly testing before waterchange and stable for at least two months doing so) through regular frequent water changes, it is doable with something like a bubble tip. But don't be hasty, as you'll regret it if it melts and nukes your tank. Something like a rock nem or maxi mini carpet may be tough as nails but it won't hoste a clown and not really what most look for when they think of anemones.
But all theory aside, when you say new tank and if your new to hobby, just don't do it till your params check out week after week, usually at least a 4 month old tank. remember the reefing mantra: only bad things happen fast

Aiptasia will do GREAT! No seriously, I had my first bubble tip when my 290gal tank was just like 1-2 months old... It has done really well, and has splitted in to 4 individuals.
IMO if your tank is stable and cycled I don't think you'd have to wait for a year. It's not the clock that tells when your tank is ready, is it? :)

I upgraded to a bigger system in may and the tank wasn't even a week old when I moved all my anemones (and fish, corals and all) in to it. No problems...

Yes maturity and stability are going to help. I would wait til the tank is a few months old and that you have a good handle on water husbandry (not sure what your skill level is at). But anemones dont like major shifts in alkalinity.
