anemone's and shrimp ok together?

I have a simple question. Can you combine Anemone's and shrimps together? I have a 12" rose and a 3" rock anemone in a 40g but no shrimp.

I guess that might depend on the type of shrimp you intend on keeping. My rose and cleaner shrimp have gotten along just fine.

sure, why not? i very muchly doubt the anemones are gonna stalk and pounce on the shrimp.

I've had fire and cleaner shrimp in my tank w/ anemones for over a year now w/o any problems.

I know a lot of anemone keepers who no longer keep cleaner shrimp with their anemones. Its not because the anemones eat the shrimp. It is because the shrimp steal food from the anemones. I have had shrimp that would even pull food out of the anemone's stomach hours after it had been fed. Aside from not being able to get any food into the anemone, the shrimp tend not to be very careful about it and sometimes tear the anemones delicate tissues.

I have several cleaner shrimp, peperment shrimp and a pistol shrimp with mine.

got 2 cleaners and 2 pepps w/ my RBTA. I generally feed the shrimps a piece of the fish/shrimp first before i feed the anenome.

I don't do it to protect my anenome but moreso just to give these shrimps a bit of a treat a couple of times a week. I guess a side effect is that it'll prevent the shrimps from trying to tear into the anenome for it. The hermit crabs on the otherhand are pretty annoying trying to take the meat from the anenome.

I asked because I bought a peppermint shrimp the other day. A few days later, I just saw the tail, the whole shrimp was inside the Rock anemone. I guess I have a bad anemone. Or I wasnt feeding him enuff?
