I know we're all supposed to cover the intakes of our pumps/powerheads...so my question is, have people covered their Vortechs? I'm getting a Gigantea in a few days and want to make sure everything is a-okay.
Yep i did cover my vortechs just in case. He hasn't moved since i put him in but better safe than sorry. I just put some of that crafters mesh stuff you can find at Micheals and cut it into strips and zip tied it on there. I figured untill it was settled and happy then i would take them off. I didn't notice a difference in flow by any means
Make sure you send some photos when hes in there. These 2 look like brothers.
I think if you get a good specimen, the Gigantea shouldn't be too much of a problem after the first week with the right placement of the VT's and the Anemone. Once they are happy they usually won't move.
