Anemones and wave makers

I just added a haddoni carpet anemone about 6 days ago. I had turned off the wave maker until today just to make sure he could attach his foot. During his first night in the tank he move about 8 inchs and has stayed in that spot ever since. It seams like he is acclimating well having good color and looking happy

Now that wave maker is back on (for about 2 hours now), he doesn't seam to care about the wave in the tank. Although I set my wave maker to the weakest setting, you can still see the other corals moving back and forth. Even the edges of the anemone is moving with the wave. Based on everything that I had read, this should help to create a more natural environment for him.

Just wondering if anyone else is using wave makers with anemones

I just recently got a MP40 and thought the same thing. When I had it set to short pulse to get the wave action going it definately didn't like it and started to retract. I now have it on lagoon mode at about 85% and it couldn't be more happy. It gets the normal lower flow around it for awhile then it will get a couple of blasts. I think it has to do with the constant up/down or side to side that it didn't like.

Right now, my little guy doesn't seam to mind the constant wave. But I am keeping a close eye on him to make sure

S. Haddonis are not fans of lots of flow -- they are very touchy when it comes to flow. The slightest change/increase can/will cause them to move.

Even 2 MP10's on a 75 were borderline too much for mine, had them down to about 50%.

After a 1/2 day, the anemone just did not mot look himself so I turned off the wavemaker and he perked up again after 2 hours. If I would have left it running for a second day, I'm guessing he would have moved or gotten stressed

What kind of wavemaker are we talking about?

I have a tunze nano wave maker in a 120 gallon tank (4 X 2 X 2)

Never messed with the tunze but if you could block some of the higher flow from it you could probably turn it back on.

I'll give that a try

I might just move this little guy into my 90 gallon. There is one low-flow spot that is mostly identical to the spot he moved to right now. There's no wavemaker in that tank as it is mostly SPS.
