Anemones eating clownfish?

I purchased 2 ocallaris clownfish, a purple condy anemone and a green bubble tip anemone. The clownfish were rather small, I purchased them from reefs2go. The clownfish that had went missing was the bigger female. They've been in there a month and have been fine.

I'm just wondering if the anemone's would eat the clownfish as they were so small? I went to sleep and one is missing no whete to be found so my only guess is that an anemone got ahold of one😫

I thought that clownfish had something in their scales that allowed them not to be stung by anemones. I just have no other idea where they could be. Or if I should be asking one of my roomates if they did something with it as crazy as that sounds.

It's not in the sump or overflow? I've often had new clownfish take the ride in to the sump.

It's very possible for the anemone to eat the clowns. The clowns need to train themselves and develop the coat for anemones. Condy anemones are also not natural hosts for clownfishes. Check your overflows and check the floor or back of the tank in case she jumped out.

Im guessing the condy must have got it. I've checked everywhere in the tank and around. I was more concerened about the tiny clownfish but I guess that stuff just happens

That's where researching before you buy comes in. Not all anemone will host clownfish. Clowns do need to acclimate to their host and the anemone needs to "recognize" its fish. Otherwise, carnage! Even when the anemone is supposed to host a clown species, it's not a simple thing as swimming into the anemone. The fish actually rubs itself little by little into the tentacles. Somehow the fish and the anemone "learn." There are many theories on how this happens.
