I currently have a FOWLR tank and I am planning to switch to a reef tank. I was wondering if anemones need trace elements? I currently have one aiptasia living in my tank, will it die on its own?

I've been waiting to get a BTA myself.

From what I have read on the Anemone forums you're gonna want to have good lighting, low to no NO3 and PO4, decent water movement and stable temps and salinity.

I'm curious how you have 0 on the Mg, Kh, and Ca. Do just use standard salt mix for water changes? If the trace elements are required for nems then could probably just switch to reef salts for water changes to bring up the levels.

I am not sure if you are serious...

First off, get some test kits.

Second, no the aiptasia will not die on its own unless the levels you posted are correct, in that case it and anything else in the tank is already dead.

I would recommend killing the aiptasia, if left to its own it will reproduce and take over your tank.
