Anenome is too Big - Thoughts?

I have a very large rose anenome in my 175g. I have two maroon clowns that feed it every time I feed the fish. The anenome keep getting bigger and bigger. It is taking over the tank. Any thoughts? I can't keep anything near the anenome because it stings it. Thoughts?

Get rid of it? If so, how? It is attached to a rock in the back of the tank with lots of rocks on top. I would have to dismantle the entire tank. I don't want to try and rip it out either. Also, I like it, but it is just too damn big.

Honestly, there really isn't anything you can do --- at least that will be simple.

Sure you could try to adjust the powerheads so that it moves off the rock so you could sell it. However, it seems that they will always move when you aren't around and will end up either stinging a bunch of corals and/or in one of those powerheads.

Hope that it splits. However, IME, with large BTAs they really don't get all that much smaller after a split, and then you have at least one more to worry about.

Dismantle that section of your tank to get the anemone and its rock out.

Just live with it.

I was in a similar situation many years ago, I ended up redoing the tank, which gave me a chance to get the anemone and its rock out. After that I decided never to keep BTAs in a reef tank again. I now stick with sand dwelling anemones.
