Hi guys im new to your site. I was previousely using another forum but i didnt like the way people spoke to me and other new members.

I was just wondering after buying a gelam/bubble anenome that i didnt know if they stung corals.

Could anyone tell me if they do.

thanks

I am unsure of the term "gelam". If you mean green bubble tipped anemone or GBTA, yes they will sting coral and the coral may also sting them. You will need to leave room so the anemone is not touching other animals.

They they can sting corals. If the anemone finds a spot it likes away from corals, you should be fine. BUT, they move until they find a spot they like.

Welcome to Reef Central!! I don't know of any anemone that doesn't have the ability to sting corals. If you're referring to a Bubble Tip Anemone, yes, they can sting corals, and as mentioned, the can move. In fact, they're one of the most known for wandering around tanks on occasion, stinging everything in their path.

I have a GBT when i first put it in it stayed in that spot away from my corals for a long time then it moved to the back side of my bubble and yes it stung the hell out of it and now it wont move so i have a bubble with a dead spot but its a big piece so you cant even tell. its been on the bubble for 3 weeks now dont think its going anywere.
