anenomie, when is my tank ready?

I would like to start looking into getting an anenomie for my to percs in my 125 gal tank. I've read some things saying that the tank should be mature before adding one and that is where my questions start. My tank is only a couple months old but I bought the live rock and al live stock from a lady that had the tank set-up for over 3 years. I have tons of pods, bristles, feather dusters, and other things to which I have no idea running around my tank. There is tons of life. Is there something other than this that would tell me that I need to wait? If so how do you know when a tank is ready?

Second question is I have basic lighting with two 10K coralife bulbs, what would I need to increase my lighting to in order for the anenomies to survive?

Third and final..for now. What is the best type of anenomie for a pair of perc clowns?

I'd say about 6 months, but maybe more, maybe less depending on how stable you keep your tank parameters.

What is basic lighting? NO bulbs? If so you will need to upgrade to VHOs or Metal Halides if you are serious of keeping them long term.

There are natural hosts for perculas, but you might be interested in attempting a less difficult anemone. I would suggest bubble tips (BTA), long tentacle (LTA) or haddoni carpet. The BTAs can do well under the VHO lighting while the others require metal halides.

If all is stable, you are good to go now. I currently have a green bubble tip anenome in a relatively new tank and he is happy as a ...mmmm aneneome.

BTA's are relatively easy, and heve moderate light requirements. I'm running 4-96watt T-5's and the anenome we have has nearly doubled in size in three months.

Good luck!

the BTA is not a natural host for the perculas but I have seen many come to live in them in time, and yes they are less demanding then other anemones. I keep mine under 2x150 watt 14,000k halides and mine loves it. Did you say what wattage your bulbs were and I just missed it?
