Hi I was at my LFS yesterday and saw a beautiful flameback angel for 30$!!!!!!!! He looked great and since I also want a lamarks I was wondering if I could add those two angels together at the same time, or which way would be best cause I'd really like these guys in my 65gal reef, on live aquaria it says lamarks can be with other angels so I was wondering wht you guys think of this

THANKS

Your tank is too small for a lamark's angel or any other genicanthus.

The flameback is fine, size-wise, but they can be kind of territorial, so you should take that into consideration when deciding. What other fish do you have?

Yea the Lamar's need a ton of swimming room and will outgrow a 65. The flame back is fine but it might go after anything added after it. I have a cherub in my 65 and it went after a small butterfly.

Depends on the size of the fish and the size of the quarantine tank.

Cherubs are the same as flamebacks in temperament and can terrorize more passive fish (think of them as the sixline wrasses of the dwarf angel world). If QT the tank is big enough and has enough hiding places (2-3" PVC pipes and such) you might be able to get away with it, but you should be prepared with a backup plan in case it goes south. In fact, you might want to divide it with eggcrate from the start until you can see how they interact.
