I know you can use the drums but how will you know if something is wrong? Also how do you rig filtration too?

I was thinking of 56gal column tanks wrapped in insultation to keep it wamr and dark.

The fish will be floatin on the surface and the water would be foamy?

Filtration would be easier than a glass tank since you can drill anywhere.

I use something similar to drums and don't have any problems viewing the fish.

have u bred angels? So you'd say us a column style tank? I was under the impression they like it dark too?

No, And never will but I used drums and tubs as tanks before.

I just answered your question about filtration and viewing.

Luis has spawning pairs in his tank but I don't know if the tank is dark or not.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "dark" - but for the record my first spawning pair of flame angels went at it at a certain time in the evening whether I had turned the lights off or not
This was while my lights weren't on a timer

I keep a single 40W fluo bulb all over the tank.Guess some light is needed,to have algae growing among other things...

How "deeper" ? What is true about tank hight for angels ?
By the way your pair is C. flavissimus ?
Anderson.
