angels & clams

does anyone have clams with blue face angel or flame angels?
I have both and thinking of getting a med. size clam. will that be okay?

It's not sure that it will be okay, there a possibility that flame angels or blue face angels nipple the clam!

I have a Flame Angel for about a year and a half in a tank with 9 Clams...Derasa, Squamosa, Maxima, and Crocea's. He nips the Croceas if they are in the sand but leaves them alone if their up in the rocks...weird...and he doesn't even look at the other species in the tank, but then I keep him well fed.

thanks, how about blue face and possibly adding a multi color to the tank. i really want a big clam in my display!

I really want to know, and my LFS has some big clams I would like to get.

ddboy if u have like 100 bucks to spare just try it but keep in mind that it's very possible that it nipple the clam!

You can always sell the clam if things don't work out - might have to take a loss but worth the try

IME clams are very easy to catch

That is a very good point. plus my LFS owner is cool with me. I can always return it. Thanks, I guess yours is okay with 2 flame angels. BTW, they look very nice. your flames.

yeah. most likely you'd have to choose...for me my 7 clams win

Thanks for the compliment... neither of the flames has ever nipped at my clams - the Singapore angel does occasionally though
PS the male flame suddenly dropped dead a couple of weeks ago - just to keep the record straight

just an update, I just added a deresa clam in my tank and the blueface nor the flame touch it. They don't even look at it. so I guess it is okay for my case. I will probably add a multicolor angel in the future.
