My female wantabe angel's eye is about 5-10x its normal size on one side. I've had the fish for over a year, and the other fish in the tank are fine. Did it get injured, is it a bacterial infection, or???
Possiby trauma, but "pop-eye", a condition in which fluid builds up in/behind the eye is likely. It can be be viral, bacterial, or fungal in etiology. One or both eyes can be infected. It is not generally contagious to other fish in the system. I would move fish to a calm (to avoid darting around and possibly traumatizing the eye) QT tank and treat empirically with Maracyn I or II.
