Ah, Animal Love.... Yes they did carry SW but I haven't been there in about 6 months and they recently sold off to new owners. (within the last year) They were trying there hand at SW but from what I could tell last time I was there they didn't have a great handle on things yet. The old owners would order fish for me and a freind and let me pick them up right off the truck before they went into there tanks. I was comfertable with that but unless things have improved a ton with new owners the SW tanks all were in bad shape... I don't know if everyone in middle TN get there stock from the same wholeseller or not but they always had a unussually high sickness rate to me. The old guys were super nice though, haven't been down with new guys but once. Got my first coral as live rock from them for about $2. It turned into a huge cup coral and started me on my reefing journy! Darn them sometimes!! :lol: They stopped carrying corals after a short stent with them and lots of death. But I haven't been down in a long time.... They have real nice live rock and a great price at I think $5.99 lb last I got any.
There is another SW store in columbia just about 2 mins from pet love called Franklin Aquarium. Real nice owner also and they seem to try to take care of there tanks but still have some trouble with the SW side. He has been in buisness for years. Nice all around pet store. Actually the store that sold me my first SW book. They were trying to do a coral, live rock tank also but the display had lots of invasive alages and such last time I was there but the fish mostly looked as healthy as could be expected in a store enviroment with tap water. Both are worth swinging in if you are down that way just to take a look. You never know what you will find.

animal love pet store isnt worth looking at anymore. they dont even have decent fresh water anymore. as for salt water forget about it. they did have nice live rock at one time but that was a while back and now all they had was nasty algae infested rock that was 7.99 or 8.99 a lb which i wouldnt have taken for free and everything in the tank was dead at the time. i went in there just to see if it was cleaned up any with the new owners and its worse now and it was bad before. franklin pet store is the safest bet here in columbia. you can go into animal love just to see how bad it really is. im not usually hard on pet stores but that place is beyond bad. my wife couldnt stay in the store for more them 5 minutes because of the smell lol

Oh, I hate it went downhill so bad. I use to hit both stores since they were so close at least once a month just to window shop but had not been down to columbia in awhile. Hope they can figure it out before they go under. The other owners always had real nice LR and very good prices. To charge premium prices you have to have premium rock and a kinda inviting store to pull it off I would think.
