Animated Image/Icon

Does anyone know how to make an animated image file? I am referring to a jpg that actually shows a very short "movie" file. My lawnmower blenny is an irritable thing and likes to do a dance to threaten me when I get near the tank (bobs his head like an iguana). He is always ****ed off.

I'm not a graphics guys, but I believe most of the animated images are actually gifs. Those that are stand-alone, anyway.

Google gif editor and you'll probably at least come close to what you're looking for.

Download GIMP from www.gimp.org. I think it will make an animated GIF.

I use gimp for a lot of my stuff... absolutely amazing free program!

I didn't even think about using it for gifs. Good idea, Harry.

I have heard people say that GIMP will do everything PhotoShop will. I doubt that. As far as I can tell it does not have the ability to watch and record what you do and create a macro. I also don't think it can do a batch job on every file in a certain folder. Seems like somebody tried to write an add-on to do a limited amount of that but it didn't have a lot of pizaaz. I use it and it does everything I need to do. And it's absolutely free!

I haven't done an animated image but I've seen the instructions for doing so. You need several pictures that are slightly different and it will simply "scroll through" all of them and then start over from the front.

One thing I have learned from web programming though it that most people are annoyed by anything moving on the page or unsolicited music.

Yeah, I think the photo is annoying enough by it's self! that's one of the reasons i picked that one over the first one of YS that i had. It gets your attention, no? BTW your corals are doing fine in my tank but can't remember the name of the one i bought from you 1. Alabama blue tort 2. ? If you still have your list or you remember what it was, Kinda white in color/ w long polyps

Actually Image Ready that comes with PS is what creates the animated GIF's. Not sure if PS alone will do it.
