Another 40B build.

I have been on both sides of the fences; thats why i am making you the offer. It was a hassle to drag home water and an even bigger hassle when repeatedly flooding apartments with home RO/DI kit before having to leave for work the morning after. The downside is right now i own my home so i am no longer flooding someone else's property. I should pay a plumber to hook up a connection inside the garage.
I don't pay attention to those salt debates, I have been using Reef Crystal for half a decade but I am switching back to Instant Ocean as I am going to start dosing my tank again or hook up the calcium reactor. The Reef Crystals usually leave nasty gunk inside my mixing container and pump.

Shoulda left trim on. Also need a t off back drain bulkhead instead of that 90. Use durso on top of t and straight drain off the bottom

CichlidMan, I took the trim off because if you look at the first pictures you'll see white areas on the back between the trim and the glass. I tried to remove whatever the white stuff was with a razor and a putty knife, I couldn't remove it without taking the trim off and it would have bugged me everytime I looked at. I'll definitely try that, I need to redo the top part of the overflow anyways. The ball valve I have is a cheap Home Depot one but I've been reading about Cepex ball valves and they're suppose to be much better.
Benar- I think I know what you're talking about, I know the glass-holes overflows come with a top piece to quiet it down, I'm sure something like this would work for mine too but I might try what CichlidMan suggested. I actually saw a similar setup and was going to try it.

Today I went and picked up two Hydor Koralia Evo 750's. I also messed with the skimmer a little bit. I wasn't a fan of the riser pipe or was I a fan of paying $50-$55 after shipping for the wedge pipe outflow from kit reef Reef Dynamics so I went to good ole home depot and spent $8 on piping and fittings and made my own wedge pipe. I still want to paint it and have some finishing touches but I am pretty happy with the way it came out. Also, I went to hook the pump up and I noticed I misplaced the ceramic shaft that goes in the pump, ugh. Here a few pictures of it. Honestly, this is a really easy mod, the thing that took the longest was sanding the stops inside the T so the pipe would slide all the way to the middle.

Little bit more of an update on this thing. I still need to either get another trim piece of some glass so I can eurobrace it. Also next weekend I should be picking up my rock. But, I redid the sump and it turned out not too bad.
Then I leak tested the sump, with it filled you can barely notice the excessive amount of silicone.
Added 40lbs of CaribSea Aragonite.

Well, it's finally almost done. My trim piece came in today so I finally able to water test the whole system and, it works perfectly. I also turned my 2nd return hole into an emergency drain, I know lol but just incase. I also picked up my other Koralia evo and am getting 40lb of dry rock this weekend. I know alot of people on here have done this in the past with a sump and overflow but, this is my first time and I really couldn't be any happier with the way it came out for my first time.
Emergency drain, it sits about an inch above the water when filled.
Trim piece in and siliconed on.

looking good,Ive found the trim keeps me from splashing over water while cleaning the glass, and provides area for the netting.
