Yes, I know I shouldn't be mad at the fish...But I can't help it. This is the second one I've had and I can not figure out why they die.
My first one...I had for only a few days...on day one his fins started to come off and he never ate...I put him in a small fuge in the tank...and he survived (barely) for a while longer but never ate...everytime I let him out he would just swim around like a dead fish...and the fins would rot off. (by the way this was s perfectly healthy looking fish in the bag when I got it.)
that was last year.
This time I had ordered one a few months ago...got it in and put it in a "small" hospital tank...with just one other fish, a banggai cardinal. They got along fine...and he started eating on day one...and I kept him there for obsevation for months till last night. The fish ate everything I put in the tank. I loved that little guy...he was so great. But like I said I moved him to the Main display tank...and just to be safe I moved his banggai buddy with him...and I REmoved all the other fish that may be a problem for him...(two clowns...and two mated Banggai's) So it was just him and 6 chromis, and a magnificent foxface...and his old buddy...no other fish...and overnight...his fins rotted off and by tonight after work he was just being sucked into an over flow. (in a "still gasping but you know he's gonna die" state)
So what's the d@#n trick with these things...I was moving him from a 37g hospital tank where he was thriving...to a 60 gallon system and he dies over nite...I'm sick to my stomach. I'm ****ed at more money I'm out from it, and I'm sad for the loss and for how the poor guy would still be alive if I hadn't tried to move him to a "BETTER" tank...
Why do these fish die in my Better tank...why would it thrive in a dingy polluted hospital tank...?
Please anyone who has one succesfully in their MAIN display...please tell me how to do it.
By the way...since I'm sure you will all ask...the tanks params are all good and clean. But the hospital tank was not as clean...and by the way not a single issue with the other banggai I moved with him.
