I feed a mix of 50% Prime Reef and 50% Brine. I thaw it an week quantities and keep it refridgerated.
I start will a decent prefilter sponge block, and the skim decently, followed be a refugium - lights 24/7 and the a flite foam block and a sump. I will alternat carbon from time to time and waterchanges fairly regularly.
I have a decent amount of live rock in the tank, and in the fuge...rubble. I could add additional rubble to the old wet dry.
The last batch of Phos Sponge made a huge dent, it has not been comming back nearly as fast, but it has been comming back. I have not had to scrape the glass in nearly 2 weeks, and it's still good.
I was running at 430 ppm calcium and 3.5 alk. and I have to re-cal the Ph meter, but typically 7.8-8.0
temp is 76 degrees on the reef today, while salinity is 1.0255 on the refractometer.
The Skimmer is plumed into the drain, so it drains as fast as it skims, and there is always a white column of bubbles. When the ro kicks in, I have the waste water running into a t in the line, where 30% of the waste water flushed the skimmer cup 5 times daily.
Topp off water is RO/DI (DI x 2) and then a GAC. The RO unit is patched thru a water timer, which allows thewater to turn on and off severl times during the day, pressurizing the float valve in the sump. Keeping the water level constant.

TDS numbers are as follows: 141-144 ppm out of the tap after run for a few minutes, and 4 ppm out of the ro. Only a sediment cartridge needs to be changed, that came due on the first of Aug. but the membrane is new as of Jan. 2006. The ro system has seen fewer than 500 gallons since that time.
Tap water is NEVER introduced into the system. I wahs before and after reaching into the system... I have covered any and all open tanks possible so as not to allow dust into the system.
I feed the fish 1 time per day, and only every other day. They are given less than 1/2 a thimbal of frozen food, tawed and administered with a turkey baster.
I'm open to ideas, otherwise, I'll just run the spone for a couple months and exhaust the media, and see if I can't pull every last bit out. but I am SICK of pulling algae tuffs.
