Another Fish?

my reef tank is only a 10 gallon .i have soft corals inverts and one yellow watchman goby and one bangaii cardinal.was wondering if i could add another either bangaii or totally different fish.quite like the green clown goby but wondered if ywg would have issues with it in a small tank.it used to attack a purple firefish i used to have.

Hi Bronson,
I would steer away for another bangaii in a 10g.
Bangaii can get pretty big (my guy is 3" at 3 years old), and unless you get the opposite sex of the one you have, the old one will kill the new one.
You may be able to try another goby. The bangaii is swimming in the water column, and the ywg should be in the sand bed. If you were to add a fish like a cleaner goby, it might be ok, but for a 10g, you are pretty stocked to be honest.

ok thanks for your advice.thats made my mind up about a bangaii.when you say cleaner goby which ones are they?

I honestly think you are already "well stocked" with the 2 fish you have in there now. I would not recommend adding any more as you will only be asking for issues IMO.

If you want to add something why not add a pistol shrimp for your watchman?

Or you could add a cleaner shrimp.

Sorry Bronson, wasn't thinking. A cleaner goby is another term for a neon goby http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+31+194&pcatid=194.
They are aquacultured fish that are known for helping keep a tank healthy by removing parasites and dead tissue from fish.
While I do think you are stocked, in my personal opinion one of these little guys should not have a negative impact on water quality or cause aggression.
