Hi guys I am not at a problematic state with gha but do want some suggestions.
1st just a little history on the tank. The tank is still young at 8 months and has had a few ups and downs but all in all has been stable. The tank is a 120g mixed reef 48x24x24 with a bean animal overflow and a 55g sump. The tank is turning over at 6 - 700 gph through the sump / fuge. I have 2 jebao wp25 wave makers running in else mode (random).
There is abut 135# of live rock, soft corals, a birdsnest, some other sps frags that I forgot the name of. I also have 2 green BTA's... well now 3 as one split yesterday. I have 2 occelarous clowns and a yellow tang. The cuc consists of a dozen nassarius snails and 4 astraea snails, one emerald crab and a banded coral shrimp (he added some color and interest not really a cuc member)
I haven't tested for phosphates in a while but usually is negative. Bad test kit maybe.... it always tested negative even before having algae. I will admit that I do not regularly test because I have come to trust how the stock and corals look as my gauge.
I used to do regular WC's every two weeks but have been going longer now since it appears that the corals fair better when I don't do the changes that often. I will be doing a change this weekend though since I am at 6 weeks.
I am having some thicker patches of GHA on the sand bed. The rocks are getting better with time and the cuc. Just wondering if I should add more snails or another emerald crab or ??
