Another group cleanup crew order?

. I thought that this was the CVRC not the Net Order Club. See Ron is kind enough to start this club for the benifit of everyone. He even buys things to give away ath the club meetings, he takes time out of his day to be at these meetings. The least you all could do is buy the things he CAN get, from him and not through another copany just to save a few bucks. I you all JOINED this club. The least you all could do is support it and the shop.

Bginners nothing personal here but -It's OK, group buys are a great thing for clubs, plus sometimes you can't get things locally. Besides I could care less where everyone gets their stuff from and everyone here already knows how I feel about online fish stores. In fact we went in with them for the last GB to help with the numbers (which was not so good), lets just hope this one works out better
I always say buy local but if you can't find it and you need it, well there ya go. It is true that some clubs become nothing more than a way to get cheap supplies and go around LFSs, I don't think you will find to many CVRC members who look at the CVRC in that manner and I know there are no long time members who are here only for that purpose. BTW whatever I donate or do is for the club and I only do to help not to entice sales for anyone! We have had that discussion in the past and it has been resolved IMO.All that said, before anyone starts beating down on Bginners for his post I will remind you that he is young and is asserting his freedom of speech and that is something we still have, but lets be civil. He is only trying to convey what he has learned and that is support your local fish stores, he just worded it very badly. Either way Im out of this discussion, unless it starts going down hill and if it does I will have no choice but to have this thread closed, think before you respond.

What ever you guys. Im going to back off. I had my chance to exercise the first admendment. The admendments in greater detail. Plz not the Peacibly part. (I happily ignore it at times and for that i apologise.)
Salty has a very good point when it comes to GBs. As I have stated before, I belive that purchasing from your LFS is the very best way to go, that is if they have what you want or can get what you want. On special orders, GBs are wonderful. Where it gets sticky is when you want to purchase items that are readily available at your LFS. If at all posiable, it is always best for everyone if you can get your items from your LFS, but if you can't, the only other choice is the internet. I have had bad expierence with internet purchases, at lease with your LFS, you know exactly what you are getting and you are giving support at the same time. I want in on the group order, mainly because I want a flower anemonie, and I have never seen one before. All of that being said, I think we all support our LFS and we all appreciate Ron more than he knows and much more than he is told I am sure. But I am glad Salty spoke up, that is his way of showing his support as well. We all love the Club and are very thankful for Ron and all of his support and free advice.

For the record, the club and Jo-Mar's are not the same thing. When we started this club, we met at the shop intially until we outgrew it. We definately have the benefit of Jo-Mar's and Barry and Ron's support and guidance, but this club is for information, fellowship among reefers, and the passing around of corals to conserve the natural reefs, not a branch of the store. It's very irritating for new members, unaware of what we have done in the past to try to make people feel bad for things that we have done for the benefit of the members, financially and otherwise of this club and forum. I recommend a little research or questions before future tirades... Just my .02

This is your second warning guys, stay on the subject at hand (The Group Buy). I do not want the shop mentioned any further in this thread.
Before anyone responds think first, I realize freedom of speech etc...but this is unnecessary and unproductive to the task at hand IMO</b>
