I have lost one colony and noticed another loosing flesh on the tips. I had been dosing trace elements, and a carbon source for a good while without issues. I use the FM alk test and the dropped had not been flowing perfectly due to small particles in the reagent. This had been causing inconsistencies in the drop size which was causing a low reading of 8 dkh. When I cleaned and replaced the reagent and then checked the alk against a salifert kit. It was actually at 10 dkh. My actual alk my have gotten over 10 in the past few weeks and as you know with carbon dosing High alk can be an issue.
Just a note..always check your alk test as a possible source of error.
