Still wondering if anyone has an idea as to what this is.

looks like the a. mirebilis from atlantisaquarium. mine died and i can't justify spending that they're asking for another piece. PM me if you want to sell a piece.
 
I may be interested in fragging some in a few weeks or so.If you guys are interested pm me so we can work out details.

it sure is a beautiful coral. I tend to agree with the others, this may well be A. mirabilis. In calm water it will develope an open branching system, rather than the typical corymbose table found on the upper reef. The branches are typically thin, less than the thickness of a pencil.

I think a big part of its growth (the thick branches)is that it gets pounded constantly by current not direct but I have 2 eductors on the opposite side of the tank pointed at that side of the tank.
