DUPE and I can't delete
Spelling of color now americanized to garner favour of Bay area audience (I'll work on Favour later)
OK, I got this colony of Dull-Green acropora (stag i guess) with pale blue tips right after the frag swap with my 20$ raffle winnings as a downpayment. The coral has grown nicely and (unbelieavably for me) the whole coral has become more blue... nearer to the tip color than the original base color.
The interesting observation is that one piece of the coral was separate from the other... sam base but its' as though the epoxy was applied to the bas in such a way that one arm is an "island" from the rest of the colony. This arm, although showing the same polyp extension, has all exactly the same dull green as the whole thing had when I got it and shows no growth hence no blue tips. You'd think it was a different coral if you hadn't seen the thing when I got it. I may have to remove it and put it elsewhere in the tank as it's looking odd now that the color is so different. Everything else about it looks indentical to the rest of colony.
Any thoughts about this...
