OK, this is the break down. About a year ago I was loosing fish etc. After removing all the rocks from my 55gal and placing them in a wagon for weeks, I finally saw the mantis, he was black and about the size of my pinky finger. Put everything back re-stocked the tank and im hearing the same noise I did a year ago, however Im not loosing any fish. I just bought a 120 gallon I will be setting up in Aug when I move to a new apartment. What suggestions does anyone have for this? Thanks!

well lets see what kind of noise is it, plus there might be more mantis in diff lr but kept in a wagon should have killed him or made him or them move .

well u can't just tell by looks he might be hidiing u probly won't see him at anytime he will pprobly come out when he wants too, but hopefullly it is a pistol shrimnp

Actually, it is scientifically proven that the easiest way to find hidden mantis shrimp is to do the following:
1. Roll up your sleeves
2. Using your index finger, begin prodding around
in any or all crevices that exist in your live rock, paying
particular attention to the deepest, darkets of them ...
3. Say your prayers boy cuz .......
