Another newbie 9010 question.

I managed to get my new 9010 to fit in my sump. I had to install the return pipe in order to get the water level in the skimmer high enough to produce foam. My new question is about the small hole near the top on the back of the unit that has water coming out of it. Is this hole supposed to be open or did I miss a plug somewhere? I ask because this side of the unit is nearly up against the wall of the sump and as the water comes out of this hole, it arcs very close to the top of the wall. I don't top wake up to find water all over the carpet. Thanks for the help.

It is supposed to be there. The water in that section acts to force the foam up the cup - it is the gasket basically. It has to drain before it excedes that level.

Thanks for the responses. Thus far I am very happy with the skimmer. It is skimming about 100cc/day right now and that is with no livestock, just curing live rock. It is also as quite as everyone has said it is. Very nice product!
