another rock cooking question

I am in the middle of cooking 200lbs of rock and it is cleaning up nicely, I understand the process and that it will be biologicly viable and some coraline will make it through.

What about the invert life, there doesn't seem to be any sign of it.
Will I need to add a starter kit?

If I could remember, one of my friend cooked his LR... Some life have stayed and eventually multiplied after a few months or so. But what I would suggest is, put some LR at least when you dump all 200lbs cooked rock in your maintank just to have some "for sure" life in it to introduce with the cooked ones. You'll be surprise how fast they populate.

Yes I could use a piece of Live rock but Im not sure if I want to go through cureing it and delaying the cycle. I could have the club members do a sand exchange.

Cosmo,

Thats good to know thanks. How bad was it to start and how long did it take?

By the way I have a 64 1/2 mustang fastback.
