Another Shot at Raising True Perculas

I only do lights for the first 24 hours. Then they go on a 14/10 cycle. It is diffused with 3 sheets of paper and then I remove one sheet after day 4, one sheet at day 9 and the last sheet after meta.

Ernie, this is what I kinda based my light cycle on. I remember my first batch I lost quite a few in the first day, and someone told me to leave the lights on for 24 hours on day 1 so that they can get food right after hatching. My losses have been dramatically less! Considering I only caught 11 I think I have 8 strong little fry. So 72 % not so bad on day 2.

Following along here regarding that fry trap... Does anyone have a video of it in action? And when using it do you still need to turn off all pumps during hatch time??

I dont have my trap yet but when I do I am going to make a little video of setting it up placing it on hatch night and collecting the fry in the morning. Yes from what I have read you still have to turn off all pumps and powerheads during collection. What I forgot to mention when I was trying to collect fry the other night, I heard a whirring noise coming from my tank. I realized I left my powerheads on so I am sure it had alot to do with why my little fry were not coming to the surface as much as they did in the 75, they were too busy getting blown around the tank. Live and learn!
